Time-Sensitive and Important Solar Project Update - We Need Your Help

Keep Farmland Growing, Not Glowing — Solar Power Belongs on Brownfields

Dear Citizens for Fair Fields Members, Neighbors, and Friends,

The fight against the Eastern Cottontail Solar Project is not over. As we anticipated, the Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) has denied our request for a rehearing, so we are now taking our case to the Ohio Supreme Court. Now is the time to help support the last step of legal action.

The project cannot break ground until legal concerns and processes are resolved. Our goal is clear:
overturn the certificate, keeping it out of our community and off precious farmland.

Commissioner Davis voted against the Carnation Solar Project (Amanda Township) but approved Eastern Cottontail (Walnut Township), raising concerns about fairness and transparency. Many residents were left without a voice—making judicial action essential.

Keep in Mind Why This Matters

• 12 of 13 townships and 3 of 4 villages supported Walnut Township in opposing the Eastern Cottontail Solar Project—our community has spoken loud and clear.
• The project violates the Fairfield County Land Use Plan.
• Industrial-scale solar belongs on brownfields and underutilized land, not productive farmland or
residential areas.
• We will not be silenced. Our community deserves better!
• Stand united. Protect farmland, homes, and our future.

We Need Your Help – Now Is the Time to Donate

Our fundraising goal is $25,000 to pay for additional legal fees. Donations are already coming in and momentum is building—but we need more support to match the scale of this challenge.

Please submit your donation as soon as possible—time is of the essence. Stand with your fellow citizens and protect our farmland, homes, and way of life. All contributions will be used solely for the intended legal effort.

Please note: To avoid compromising our position, we cannot accept donations from individuals or organizations affiliated with energy source industries (natural gas, petroleum, coal, nuclear, hydroelectric, wind, solar, or geothermal).
